Kansas Court of Appeals Visit

Every year, the Kansas Court of Appeals holds oral arguments on campus at 天涯海角APP. We are excited to announce the return of the court to 天涯海角APP in Spring 2024:

9-11:30 a.m. (approximately)
Hudson Auditorium, NMOCA 217

This is a great opportunity for students and the community to observe the judicial process in action. Additionally, the judges often end each session with a Q&A, taking questions from attendees about the judicial process, being a judge in Kansas, working in legal-related fields, etc. (However, they cannot answer any questions specific to the cases on the docket.)

This event is free and open to the public. You are welcome to quietly come and go during the session. 

If you plan to bring a large group, please notify Gwenda Hawk, Associate Professor and Chair of Legal Studies, or call 913-469-8500, ext. 3184.

To watch from off-campus, oral arguments will be livestreamed. A link will be posted before the session. 

The livestream will contain live captioning, but if a sign language interpreter is needed, please request at least 48 hours in advance
