- Joy A. Ginsburg Announced as Executive Director for the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Foundation
May 16, 2022
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (May 13, 2022) – Joy A. Ginsburg is named the new Executive Director for the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Foundation beginning July 1, 2022. Ginsburg was unanimously approved by the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Foundation Executive Committee, Hiring Committee, and Foundation staff.
Foundation Board President Marshaun Butler shares the Board’s anticipation of welcoming Ginsburg to ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP. “Joy has a strong record of successful fundraising for education in our community and she is dedicated to the mission of ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP and our goals as a community college. We respect Joy’s experience as a nonprofit leader and look forward to her joining the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP family,” commented Butler.
Ginsburg brings notable experience to ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP, most recently with the Blue Valley Educational Foundation (BVEF) where she has served as Executive Director since 2016. Ginsburg surpassed income goals for every fundraising event every year, grew the endowment to nearly $5 million, and managed a strong local board and team of volunteers. She brought new ideas to the organization, such as BV Well, which offered more than 40 mental health awareness events to the Blue Valley community in the last four years. Prior to BVEF, Ginsburg worked for 18 years in leadership positions with the American Cancer Society.
“Joy has a proven ability to work with stakeholders to ensure the college is meeting community needs and expectations,” shared ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP President, Dr. Andy Bowne. “Her commitment to strategic needs such as access, mental health support and other wrap-around services for students is particularly impressive to us.”
With the ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Foundation, Ginsburg will oversee assets of nearly $50 million which include the funding of more than $1.5 million in annual scholarships in partnership with ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Financial Aid. In addition, she will be a strategic partner with College leadership to support the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, The Midwest Trust Center Performing Arts, innovative faculty projects, capital campaigns, and student basic needs programs.
Ginsburg is excited to broaden her impact as a nonprofit leader through this new role. “The ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP Foundation is a tremendous asset for our community and supports students throughout our metro region. I look forward to growing the national reputation of our college and helping more students access life-changing education at ÌìÑĺ£½ÇAPP.”
